| WMYD Launches $100,000 “Scratch for Cash” |
|
The Granite Detroit MNT affiliate gives viewers a chance to win $100,000 in a lotto drawing each weeknight from February 28 to March 25 with scratch-off cards at advertisers featuring station personalities and shows. By Staff Granite Broadcasting MNT affiliate WMYD Detroit (DMA 11), is launching an unusual twist on a free viewer lotto game on Monday, February 28. Scratch for Cash uses the station’s shows, names of show stars and on-air talent instead of numbers in the drawing. Viewers pick up free scratch-off cards at local WMYD advertiser locations, scratch off six circles to reveal a random match of shows and talent names. A Scratch for Cash Lotto machine picks six balls during the nightly 10 p.m. newscast. If a card matches that day’s six names, the cardholder wins $100,000 cash. There’s a different scratch card issued by WMYD for each day the contest runs, so viewers have a new chance every day. The contest runs every weeknight from February 28 until March 25. |
